Carol Richtsmeier is an agent with Ebby Halliday REALTORS and a member of the award winning Butcher team. She is dedicated to creating an exceptional real estate experience for her clients.


Carol brings to real estate a vast array of experiences that make her uniquely capable and qualified to assist you with all your real estate needs.  As a retired educator, she is skilled at matching wants and needs with results and successfully moving people through the complicated steps of buying or selling their home in order to achieve their goals. As a former journalist and reporter for The Dallas Morning News, she has exceptional communication, marketing and research skills.


She has a passion for helping people and delivers unparalleled customer service to each and every client.Her passion for helping others is also exhibited in her community work.


She  was named as a D Magazine Top Residential Real Estate Producer 2015. She is a member of the Butcher Group at Ebby Halliday, Realtors. The Butcher Group received the D Magazine Platinum Group Award 2015 and a Five Star Professional rating. The group has also earned the Triple Star level at Ebby Halliday.


She is a member and past president of the local Texas Beta Iota chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, an international honorary sorority of present and past educators dedicated to serving communities through altruistic endeavors. The Beta Iota chapter raises money for the Fisher House, which provides military families housing close to loved ones during hospitalization for an illness, disease or injury. The chapter also raises money for the Alzheimers Association, sponsors food drives for local community food pantries and raises scholarship money for future teachers.


​In addition to her work with ADK, Carol also volunteers at area schools, serves as chair of  the City of Ovilla's Board of Adjustments, assists with The Dallas Morning News High School Journalism Day and serves as a judge for UIL journalism contests. She previously on the Gloria Shields All-American Publications Workshop Committee which sponsors a summer workshop for high school journalists. She also has served as  Event Planning Director for the Cedar Hill Pet Memorial Project. 


Carol writes a real estate blog and an education blog. She has a BA degree from Texas Christian University in journalism and English.  Her professional memberships include the National Association of Realtors, Texas Association of Realtors and Metrotex Association of Realtors.
